TianTian is twelve-month old now. She likes playing 'Yes or No' game. When we say 'YES', she is smiling and trying hard to nod her head. When we say 'No', she starts to shake her head quickly still with smile on her face. smiling. We were surprised that she understands 'Yes' and 'No' in English in certain way. It's so fun to watch her doing this.

I got 'the Stanford Daily' from the caferia and read one news. It's interesting to know that Stanford has such a long time school tradition.

1. At eight and a half months, tiantian can pull herself up to standing from sitting and stand for a few minutes by holding the top of her crib side.
2. At eight months, tiantian can wave goodbye.

 

Haven't seen a collegue for a few days. Just wondering if he is taking a vacation. One collegue told me,' He's blessed with a baby girl!'.

Another baby girl! Wow, our project team now have 5 baby girls. One is almost 12 months, mine is 8 months already, two are 4 months, and this new born.

No wonder some people are saying these two years are baby booming years...

经过几个月的job hunting, 明天就要到新单位去上班了。

 

今天先开车熟悉了一下来回路线。去的时候还好，走的高速，没什么人，25分钟到了。回来的时候GPS竟然给我指了一条local路线，红绿灯，stop sign真不少，好像开了40多分钟。

 

 

 

 

 

     计划旅行的时间有点晚了。想要订上公园里面的旅馆是不可能了，据说很多人提前一年就开始预订了。我们只能住在公园外面了。公园有5个门，公园外面距离这些入口近一点的旅馆也都住满了，我们最后找到了一个距离西门有22 miles的度假村，一下订了10天。

    整个旅行历时14天，我们开车经过了4个州（Utah, Idaho, Montana和 Wyoming), 车程2500迈（约4000公里,我做了40%的贡献），参观了黄石公园和它南边的大提顿公园（Grand Teton)。

         7月21日下午，我们从三藩飞到盐湖城，2个多小时的飞机，下了飞机到租车公司取车。在旅馆放下东西后，找到一家中餐馆吃了晚饭，然后在当地的Walmart 大大采购了一番。

         7月22日，从盐湖城开车去度假村，开了5个多小时，包括中途休息。入住后，当晚8:00在黄石公园西门买了票（7日有效, 可以进Yellowstone 和 Grand Teton），在西门到Madison Junction之间逛了逛。

         7月23~28日，按照计划cover黄石公园的各个景点(Old Faithful, Mammoth Hot Springs, Canyon 等等)。28日还剩下公园的南门，东门，东北门没有去。

         7月29日，重新买了一张门票，到公园的东北门逛了一圈, 看到了Grizzly Bear.

         7月30日, 从黄石公园南下到大提顿公园, 逛了大半天, 为了等着看moose（驼鹿）, 晚上8:30才由提顿公园往度假村返回, 结果回到那, 已经是11:30.

         7月31日，到东门逛，意外地看到了coyote(豺狗）。

         8月1日, 离开度假村, 入住到大提顿公园南边的Jackson小镇，晚上看了Rodeo(牛仔竞技表演)。

         8月2日，离开Jackson, 开车回到盐湖城住下，去看了看大盐湖。

         8月3日，参观了非常有名的摩门大教堂，下午飞回三藩，并顺利到家。

    整个旅行比较愉快，饱览了中西部美好的风光，在公园中沿途发现的各种动物屡屡让我们欣喜，而且锻炼了身体（hiking不少，我还抽空练了几次Kundalini yoga），最重要的就这是一个有计划的但又是一个不断学习，不断发现的一个过程，你不断的了解新的地方，新的事物，接触到各地的人们，自己对一些事情的认识上也有点提高。总而言之，本次旅行收获不小。
